FAQ'S

How much are the Property Checks going to cost?

Pricing is based on factors such as the preferred frequency of Checks, size of your home or cottage and accessibility to your property. Contact us for a free no obligation quote. We will visit your property and prepare a Check Package that is tailored to your needs. Visiting your property is essential to providing a proper quote therefore we prefer to make a site visit to enable us to give a more accurate quote.

How often do you perform Property Checks?

The frequency of the Checks is determined by you. We have packages that range from one time, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and seasonal as often as you wish. The Property Checks are based on your preference and also dictated by your insurance requirements.

I already have an alarm system why would I need Kawartha Cottage Checks services?

Alarm systems are excellent and we encourage everyone to install an alarm monitoring system but, alarm systems have their disadvantages. They are not able to tell if animals have gotten into your buildings or chewed a hole in your wall to gain access to your home or cottage. Did you know "burglary is covered by insurance but not raccoons"? If a tree hits your roof or smashes a window and is left unattended it can cause huge damage and could void your insurance or result in a denied claim. This type of damage can be devastating to your property and to your wallet! The leading cause of insurance claims are animal, weather and water damage, Most times, your alarm system will not detect any of those issues.

We recommend our customers to have a Property Check performed at least once during vacation or a minimum of bi-weekly when the property is vacant.

Do I need Kawartha Cottage Check Services?

Most insurance companies require cottages and homes that are left unattended be inspected on a regular basis. We will keep your mind at ease knowing that Kawartha Cottage Checks will inspect your property at the frequency you determine. Each individual insurance policy may have different rules when it comes to vacant properties. There is often a "vacancy clause" which states that with seasonal properties there are a set amount of days allowed between site visits. In our experience, we have seen clauses that range from 4 days to 30 days. If the property has not been checked within their set timeframe the policy could become void or a claim denied. Be sure to check with your insurance company directly!
